Have been checking out another trip and was concerned that the baggage rules with BA for shuttles are changing so started to dig a little. Found this on the BA site
http://www.britishairways.com/travel/ba ... b#domestic
(hope I am OK pasting this small piece)

Quote :
Connecting flights

When checking in for a journey that involves BA and another carrier, the baggage policy of the first international carrier will apply. If BA is the first carrier, and the subsequent carrier's allowance is more generous, then the most generous allowance will apply.

So does this mean that after travelling upper into lgw from mco, I am entitled to 3 X 32kgs luggage allowance on my shuttle [?] and if it does, can you imagine the fight at check in [B)]

Would appreciate your comments

thanks

You should be OK. If I were you, I'd just keep the VS bag tags/bar codes on your bags and only remove them as you actually check-in so they can see you have just stepped off an international flight. They may also ask to see your VS e-ticket/paper ticket too so keep that handy along with your VS bags receipts.

You could always try and get your bags tagged all the way from MCO to your final destination with VS when you check-in at MCO. They might say yes.

Thanks James for quick reply. Unfortunately VS stopped interlining bags with BA a last year - bummer.

I will try and check in a couple of bags in January and see what the reaction is - maybe will take a copy of the page with me.

thanks again

I'd definitely take the details with you as well as reference to where you found them - if experience of others' here applies there are plenty of gate agents who don't have a total grasp of all the rules ...
