Hi all

Ive just noticed that if you live in Europe outside of UK or Eire then you only need 800 TP's to reach/retain Exec Club Gold as opposed to the 1500 you require if you live in the UK !

Anyone had any experience of registering as resident of another country with BA ?

I have a valid Spanish address, a Spanish bank account, Utility bills in my name and a Spanish Identity Number (NIE).

Its not as simple as changing my address online, your account has to be transfered and administered in the country concerned.

Any thoughts on what my chances would be of changing my BA Exec Club account to a Spanish one ?? or for that matter any down side to doing this ?

Cheers

It's a "standard" trick - EuroGold. Just toying with doing it myself TBH - Discussed here.

The only obvious downside appears to be that any BA Amex mileage earnings and Tesco earnings stop.

However, the Tesco vouchers are valid for a couple of years years, so you could 'reside' in Europe, return, and then redeem the Tesco vouchers for BA miles.

I think the BA Amex account is also closed if you use it / earn miles, when residing abroad - ISTC

NS has summed the only downsides up,it's an easy process to change to euro cheat you only need an address to pick your card up from.I prefer an annual AA YUP trip BOS to HNL keeping the Amex and Tesco points.
