This month's Conde Nast Traveller also has pictures from the new BA lounges at T5.

Views of the Concorde room bar, First Lounge bar and various other nonsense. Certainly looks swisher than whats currently on offer at T4.

I have been to T5 for 4 or 5 trials & I am going again tomorrow.

It is a wonderful building but does loose some of its 'WOW' factor now that the fixtures & fittings are in place. I was lucky enough to visit with Lord & Lady RoM, & Mavrick organised it back in Sept 2006.
There has been some critism in the press of how slow check in procedures are BUT, these are trials & the whole point is to test equipment & new procedures & get the staff upto scratch on such matters.
The bit that makes me laugh is when we are given our identities for the trial & the trial starts & folks RUSH to get a trolley, the stated amount of luggage & then moan that they are kept waiting at security etc. They aren't going anywhere!!!
I guess it's human nature.[:w]

The bit I read mentioned something about domestic pax having to go though twice as much security as all other pax (something about been finger printed as you enter the departure area and then again before boarding the A/C) due to both domestic and international pax using the same departure areas.

Mind you, appartently they have just started this same process when connecting from international to domestic flights using the FCC....another reason not to use the FCC [:w]

BA are taking me out on a visit next Wednesday so I will get as much info as I can and try and get some photos to show to all my new friends on v-flyer.

The fingerprinting is a pain but it does meant that the domestic pax will be able to enjoy the full T5 experience which should be a blast from the sounds of it.
WRT check-in, the whole system of moving through into the terminal past the desks as opposed to coming backwards away from them will be pretty cool, a real flow through.
Let's just hope their baggage systems in T5 are better than in T4!

There's another article here about T5 including some more lounge info.

One slightly worrying thing is that there will be no 'premium' check-in desks in T5 apparently [:0]

That raised my eyes a little! What happens if a J or F passenger wants to get a seat allocated that is blocked for check-in like a bulkhead.

Might annoy a few having to the join the queue at a ticket desk or wait for a ground agent to help. :)
