This is a really lovely advert.
Excellent brand positioning - the polar opposite of Virgin's ad; confident and looking ahead.
Would have liked the shot of all the aircraft at the end to have gone a bit longer!
Welcome Back British Airways!!!

I love that ad. It makes me feel happy and thinking of flights. Job Done.

Unlike many, I loved the tail saga (!) - it showed an international airline that reached out to all of the communities it flew to, rather than a narrow-minded nationalistic brand profile. And a lot of the artwork was fab too.

Pass the sick-bag please - :$ They should consider...

"To fly to Strike..."

"To fly to sit on the tarmac..."

"To fly if we can get non-union cover..."

:D

I think this heralds a very big push by BA - and, frankly, I look forward to it.

For one thing, it will improve my experience of flying BA, which I may be doing more often than in previous years, late 2012 onwards...

For another, it will force other airlines (incl VS) to up their game again...

All of this has got to be good for the customer.

It will take some time for the public's memory of strike action to fade, but I believe that era is now passed. And, VS have had their own issues with staff action (at least, the threat of...).

Whatever your airline(s) of choice, I think competion is healthy, and BA have thrown down the gaunlet...

^) 100% agree. There are beautiful photos of the jumbos lined up displaying their colourful tails.

Yep -- me too. The thing that strikes me about the BA marketing right now is that it is returning to notions that have served BA well in the past. Elegance, refinement, class, heritage, and so on. The current ad doesn't tell you much about the service but it signals, in best home counties English, that you're in safe hands with lots of experience. I know some people here find that ironic or cheesy, but it's a strong message.

Too right, T3 is dire except for the VS check-in/security area and of course the clubhouse!

Try to remember that huge parts of T3 are getting onto be 50+ years old and it was designed for a different age of travel when if you suggested in the mid 1950's it be built for the numbers travelling today the doctor would be called and you'd be whipped off to occupy a nice padded cell for suggesting 'impossible' numbers

Oh yeah! And BAA do seem to be trying to make the best out of it (although I'm guessing that VS bits have had huge investments from VS not paid for by BAA!) with some of the improvements.

Even T5 opening so recently can't hold the entire BA operation.. with what still operates from T3 and even a lot of bussing still happening from T5!

T5 still doesn't work properly as when I went through the other week, they had to close the north security as the queues where too long. Everyone was been directed to the south security channel which I guess will happen when you put most of the check-in desks (and all the bag drop desks) next to the north security channel entrance.

There's too many different levels to T5 as well. As you go through the terminal you seem to be constantly either be going up or down in lifts or escalators!!!

To pinch and paraphrase a post on TA in response to (what will henceforth be known as 'That Thread')

Do BA not provide you with a sedan chair to help you navigate T5?
