Dear all,

Loved Kenya so much thinking about going back again and splashing out that bit more for UC. My only concern is that GVSUN is not sue for refurb until summer 08 and therefore I am looking for a comparison between BA Club class & VS Upper Class (but not with the suite). Does BA have an equivalent to the clubhouse and how does it compare?
All thoughts welcome,

Thanks
Chris

Where did you stay in Kenya?

Did you do a Safari?

I do know BA Club World is more expensive than VS UC(my recent findings anyway)on several different routes.

Hi Ian, I went on safari for the best part of 2 weeks and stayed for 2 nights @ Sweetwaters Tented Camp and 1 night @ Serena Mountain Lodge (both around Mt Kenya), then 3 nights in the Masai Mara and 3 nights in Amboseli. Fantastic place - any questions, please ask.

With regards to prices, there isn't much in it. A outbound flight on the 2nd June 08 and back on the 16th June is £1506.90 with VS and £1,508.10 with BA.

Sounds really good, we did Amboselli seven years ago and then moved onto Tsavo and the N'gulia Lodge where a Leopard fed on a Antelope carcass only 20 yards from a totally open verandah!

Where did you stay in the Mara? How was the accomodation?

September is awesome in the Mara as the Migration is in full swing, it really has to be seen.

The Beach Hotels on Mombasa North Beach are very good and worth a visit.

My recent quotes have been based on UC and Club World.

It's always good to see someone has had a good time and prepared to return.

I'd probably go for VS, though I'm someone who actually liked the old J2000 seats. CH easily beats BA's Terraces lounge in my opinion and, if there is no difference in price, I think the overall experience on VS should be better.

I would go for VS. Terraces lounge is nothing special or out of the ordinary. The Club World seats are good but just not long enough, i am 6' and felt very cramped in them, would prefer J2000.

The VS service is just far more friendly and modern a much nicer way to spend a few hours then BA

If it cam to money then i would just go with the cheapest, the differences are small, these become more important if prices are similar but less important if prices difference bigger.

Hope you enjoy and send us trip report

I guess that price needs to be the first factor to take into account. But beyond that if its a direct comparison between J2000 and BA Club World, my choice would be BA any day. As for the lounges, they both serve good food and drink (IMHO). With BA you wont get the treatments, but again it depends whether or not you will use them and how much more/less you are paying.

Just my 2c worth.

Cheers
