When, oh when, oh when will they stop this bullsh*t about "fuel SURCHARGE". It's not a SURCHARGE - without it, you can't fly - it's NOT optional, and NOT a tax.

So... It's part of the ticket price. Therefore - headline: "BA raise ticket prices to pay their bills" [n]

If its a "surcharge" then bookings made with miles get hit- perhaps just another way of getting more revenue out of it!

How long before VS up theirs- or are they now nervous about price fixing :D

What gets me is that most of their fuel is hedged almost 1 year in advance.

And I read that BA had hedged 90% of its fuel at $68-$70 throught to March 2008. So with this rise affecting all fares booked from 15 November - most of which will be taken before the hedging falls - it's strikes me as pure profiteering.

yes, oil seems to have that effect on industry....a make hay while the sun shines sort of approach.
