We were thinking of flying to Turin to go skiing in late january and noticed that Club Europe seats were only 220 return! From T5 similar flights would be 400-500ish.
Why so cheap? have they closed down there lounges there along with the perks it gives, do they serve you Y food upfront, do you still earn tier points for these flights?

kind regards

Hi Alex

I love the CE LGW experience, helped by being five minutes away from there. Their terraces lounge is really nice with much better views now than the CH. They've just refurbed the fourth floor (it's split over two floors) meaning there is a better selection of food. Although it's only soup, sandwiches and some salads but enough to keep you happy for a couple of hours.

I really love the bar area with huge range of spirits all pour yourself from the bottle, plus some nice wines in the chiller bar.

You still get CE food and the service I have found is always great and given the small(ish) size of their crew from LGW they're really friendly and never had a bad flight. It's also the only time I've had the purser apologise for not being able to offer more of a food service on a 40min flight to Amsterdam.

It's likely just a 'loads issue' - these days LGW routes are competing with EasyJet and Ryanair, and passengers for the most part want to fly cheaply on these routes. I think the US flights have pretty much disappeared from LGW, which makes connection business pretty much gone. Agree with ade, the lounge has always been great for what you're paying for tickets, and especially comforting when you are getting off a bus from LHR and have four hours or more to wait for a connection (which has happened to us a few times).
