Hi ya

I am booking to go philadelphia for work and have the choice of choosing a 767 or a 777 for the return, and was wondering which craft would be better to travel on! ie: which is older?
Because its work it will be WT+ or plain old Y[n].
Any thoughts?

cheers

I would always go for the triple7 over the 767 - it's more modern, spacious, quiet plane and therefore less tiring in whatever class. That said, if the IFE is important, then the 767s all (I believe) have the new AVOD system whereas the refit of the 777s is still underway and you have a probably 75% chance of getting it. The BA forum on Flyer Talk is probably the best place for information, see here for information on planes and differences for example.

Is the 777 really more quiet? Everytime I've been on one it's like my ears have been under assault from the engine and air con noise.

If you're travelling economy i'd go for the 767, because the seat config will be 2-3-2 as opposed to 3-3-3 on the 777. Therefore if you get one of the 'pairs' you've got 1 less person to clamber over or clamber over you!

Thanks for the advice guys, would have probably gone with the 767 but i saw last night the birthday offer with VS to new york for £239 Y which since im paying will save a considerable amount, first time thats happened usually i book and then a sale starts the next day.

cheers
