Following recent discussions cutting of 1 CC on VS flights, maybe doesn't seem so drastic given this is around 14% of BA's CC

And then compare the expenditure per head on Cabin attendants.
There are also cuts in the number of flights.
The total reduction in numbers is very similar.

I thought that Times article reeked a little of internal BA PR machinery - while there seems no doubt that BA reward better than VS, we don't know what went into those figures and what didn't.

This certainly isnt the time to strike, the airline cant afford it and really signal the end of BA

I was also going to say doesn't VS staff get there flight time and allowances, i thought they were paid alot more than 14k regardless of age. I knew BA was always better paid, but not double- Im surprised how well Easyjet staff are paid in comparison, but maybe its due to the amount of flights they can do because of flight hours.

I am happy the union isn't doing like the US car unions and folding to all management demands. Yes things should be cut temporarily to help the airline ride out the recession, but dont give up all the benefits your union has fought so hard for over the years.

I hope that the let up to BA staff decreases, but as afew commented on the article above the attitude of certain staff has certainly not helped to keep the customers they are now desperate for.
