The stuff looks fab Pix! :) Whoever buys something first must report back on the quality.

I'd also be interested in some nicely done luggae tags :) Perhaps the check-in stafff would be even nicer (if that's possible) to us if they see that we're VF members! :)

Well, I took a hunt around for opinions on the CafePress stuff, and it's had mixed reviews. The shirts tend to come off worse, but others like the hard goods. I guess 'print on demand' is never going to be as good as a decent screen printers, but that's the trade off for not having the up-front costs of making a ton of each item.

TJ - perhaps what we're looking for on a luggage tag is "I'll take seat 1A, thanks" :)

I ordered several Weebl shirts from there and the artwork starts to go on about wash 2 - but still this was T shirts not polo... so tempted just for the chance to wear one at check in ;)

Just ordered some stuff from CafePress to see if they turn out any good. Anybody want the $5 coupon they offer at checkout. I can send it to up to 5 email addresses apparently (dunno whether it'll time out by the time someone replies, of course...)

I agree with Pix that we should go for quality stuff rather than the cheapest price. I am in the market if anyone buys any in bulk and wants to offload.

Amex Plat luggage tags are SO yesterday - especially as I ditched the card a couple of years ago:D

Decker, YGM.

Probably easiest for me to organise from this end. I'm waiting to hear back from VS to see who they use for tags. Might uncover a good contact.

TJ - I think your designs were great. However for my sense of humour I have to go with Pix's efforts.

I need to try and think of some catchy taglines - one of my favourite VS campaign regarding PE - was 'But I'm Richard's brother...' - one of the lovely marketing people sent me out a set of the official prints that were used in the London Underground push - I have it framed at home, in the spare room that my brother uses... :D

On the Microsoft Flight Sim question - sorry, its copyrighted!

Nick - yes the Platinum AmEx tags are so yesterday, the Black Centurion tags on the otherhand.... ;)

On the original FT tags, they were printed on one side and then on the other side it was transparent so you could slip in your business card. However they are not as durable as the simple laminated ones.

Though if there was a slot, we could do a Z-card to go inside with the key phone numbers and the seat maps. I carry the timetable Z-card with me everywhere.

'I want my Freedom* - menu that is'
'W to the J, Y?'
'BA what?'
'I took this flight for the haircut' :)

I might need a set for my friends of:
'I know Richard* - Mannion that is'

Thanks,
Richard

Richard - the black tags are so subtle that I doubt most non-black holders notice them. And they don't give you enough - I mean how many pieces of luggage do you have ;). The real wow factor comes from seeing them on someone who doesn't look old enough to be your father! (Counts me out BTW).

Oh I have no shortage of the things, several generations of them. I have a collection of luggage - 2 cases, overnight bag, laptop case, suit carrier and overnight case for my EMEA visits. All with tags - a number have made their way to my families luggage as they are all on as supp's on my account. Marketing are kind enough to send me out extra luggage tags, as we know that baggage handlers take a fancy to my tags (or did we establish it was pix taking them...)

Its going to cost me a bit to get them all tagged up with VFlyer tags.

So would I qualify for the wow factor with them on my luggage as a young looking 23-year old? ;) Utter comedy moment was when I took my sibling on COncorde for his 21st birthday, passengers on the other side (family group of 4) all proudly have their Platinum tags on hand luggage (Louis Vuitton and Gucci numbers). There's us two with a Dell laptop bag and a Record bag both wearing Centurion tags.

Thanks,
Richard

The wow factor comment was for your benefit ;). I do read profiles :). Must admit I don't see the point of paying for LV but I suppose when you get to the level of owning a £20M boat for 2 weeks play a year (just got back from looking around the marina at St Maarten ;)) a few thou' for posh luggage is irrelevant.

I'll have some VS flyer tags god knows were I am going to attach them, what with the *A tags,VS tags, amex tags etal.
As for the LV luggage everybody including the chavs have it now just got rid of mine and treated myself to a supper discrete(apart from all the plastic c*** hanging off of it) brown leather carry on.By the way the designs are fantastic clever people.

Hey guys, lay off the LV luggage, we have several thousands pounds worth of the stuff (5 pieces) and I don't want Birkin to get the idea you think it's uncool or it will cost me a fortune! ;)

The best I ever had was when I was in the RAF and was flying on Shackletons out of Lossiemouth. We were to be replaced at sometime by Nimrods (based on the Comet V4)

We had stuff (including Knickers for our girfriends) made up with a picture of a Shak with the logo

Alan, did you ever get down to RAF St Mawgan, where the southern Nimrods were based?

Not connected to the Nimrods (spit :D) moved away before * got Nimroda but went down with 202 ASR for some maintenance, then when I transferred to Provost & Security, had to go and sort a little difficulty with No1 sqn Rock Apes
