Just received my order from CafePress, for the stuff I put on http://www.cafeshops.com/virginflyer

I was expecting something pretty poor quality, but they're not bad at all.

I took some photos, so you can see what they actually look like (rather than the digital previews that CafePress provide).

First the coffee mug

Haven't put it through the dishwasher yet, but it appears to be printed pretty well.

The bumper sticker is really good. Very bright & sharp. This one is now on the back of my car - so if you see this on the back of a small red Cappuccino racing down the M4, you'll know it's me inside :)

Not quite as bright as the sticker, (and my dodgy picture doesn't help!), but still not bad. Printing onto the material top of the mouse mat must be a challenge anyway, and I guess you can't expect as good a print as the sticker.

I didn't order a polo shirt, since I had heard they weren't that good - but after seeing the other stuff, I'm prepared to give it a try :)

p.s. Also added a couple of new items to the CafePress store, including a wall clock:

Latest plan with the tags is to invest in the equipment that allows us to print our own.

Not so crazy as it may sound...

Ordering pre-printed cards means we're limited to one design, a minimum order quantity and a risk that cards may be left unsold. If the demand for the cards is low, I could be left with an awful lot of bits of plastic, plus the bill ;)

Buying the equipment to make our own means we can choose from an unlimited number of designs, and also means each card could optionally be personalised. If the demand for the cards is low in this scenario, at least I could sell the equipment off second hand!

The latest update is I've identified what I need, and the UK supplier. Just haggling on price now. Waiting to hear back from them, but hopefully should be able to resolve this by early next week.

Love the stuff, especially the mug and the sticker. The clock looks smart too.

Would buy a sticker but my case is material rather than plastic so it would fall off. Am very interested in the luggage tags tho ;-)

Great job! Just placed my order (still not sure about bumper stickers though [8D])

Edited 6th April to add:
"Hi from CafePress.com!
We wanted to let you know that your order was shipped."

Wooo-hooo!

Cheers

The stuff looks cool! Shipping seems a tad expensive, anyone want to order together?

Now the lunchbox and apron have real potential.....

Our corportate merchandise supplier is 4imprint.co.uk - maybe worth looking at them for some of the more popular stuff as they work out cheaper.

I'm going to have to get a display cabinet for the new 'Clubhouse' office to put all the stuff on display!

Thanks,
Richard

LOL - ok, and when my sticker arrives, I'll put it on the back of my little red Matiz, next to the San Francisco Giants one that's to go on there. So, if you see that darting about Reading, you know it's me :D

Cheers

Right... The luggage tag manufacturing equipment (!) has been ordered. Sadly they're out of stock at the moment, but hopefully by the end of this week.

Of course, our plans could be scuppered if VS veto the designs (in which case, we do some different designs...)

I wonder if this 'Head of Brand' has seen my credit card designs.... Hmmm....

I can't wait to get some tags though! It'll be great playing 'spot the VirginFlyer' at LHR! ;)

Don't worry, the 'Head of Brand' is very nice, me and Pix spent some time talking to them at the UCS launch party.

They know the forum and pix is influential...... :)
