Hi All,
As some of you may know, apart from writing websites, my other passion is the theatre and I have, in the past, produced shows that have played in London and on the Edinburgh Fringe for a theatre group called Wild Justice.
Tentative plans have begun to take 3 shows up to Edinburgh next year; Potentially the line up will include a previous success "Sell Out", (a comedy about taking a show to Edinburgh); a musical (which we're trying to get the rights to), and a new drama. Nothing like a challenge, eh?
Here's the rub. Taking a show to Edinburgh rarely turns a profit, unless you're one of the big-name stand up comedians that can fill the Assembly Rooms. For the majority of shows, it's down to the generosity of sponsorship that get those performances seen. Most actors work for nothing (as do Producers!
), so fund raising to cover the costs of the performance spaces, accommodation and the all-important publicity are paramount, and that starts early.
I am proposing that V-Flyer will be one of the sponsors of Wild Justice next year, and that any surplus from advertising on this site, plus any funds generated by events or individual donations will go towards the productions.
Equally, if you happen to be the big-cheese at your own company, and want to get your name on the posters (and support the glittering world of showbiz), feel free to drop me a private message and we'll talk turkey.
