Transferred from our Emirates flight using the transfer desks occupied by Bangkok Airways to get us to Koh Samui.

We were directed to desk 77 which is effectively underneath the airport - there was no one around to ask if we were at the correct desk and there was only flight number of ones that had already left on manual signboards.

We just sat and waited - considering the flight was supposed to take off at 8pm, no one turned up until 7.30pm. We enquired as to whether our luggage had been transferred from our previous flight and they confirmed it had (but we just weren't sure as their organisation seemed pretty basic).

We were called to board (along with 6 other people)and taken to a minibus to the plane. This plane was a very old propeller plane with wings over the body in OTT colours (bright blues/pinks/yellow etc). Once boarded up our 3 steps onto the flight (in which magically appeared about another 30 people) we were airborne on time and served with juice or water and a cold meat and salad tray.

Considering this flight was only 50 minutes long, the service was spot on.

Amazingly, our luggage turned up and off we went to barter for a taxi to take us to the Sala Samui resort for a nice relaxing 7 nights in a Sala Pool Villa.

On the return leg, we checked in at a totally open air airport in terminals which were thatched open huts. There was the necessary electrical equipment for security though.

On this short hop, we had a bangers and mash (but with frankfurters instead of normal sausages) type of meal - I think they must have been copying Virgin.

The service was exceptional again for such a short flight and other than being sardined into your seat, everything was great. Who cares about seat pitch though when you're only on the plane for such a short length of time.

A definitely recommended airline for short hops, although they have the monopoly to Koh Samui as they are the only airline to fly there.
