Sorry if this rambles a bit

My vacation to see my family in Dublin was finished all too soon and it was time to go home to Las Vegas. Due to all the Chapter 11 bankruptcy with Delta, SkyMiles are no longer redeemable on Virgin so it was Biz Elite on DL for me no UCS non-stop like last year.

Early start to the day 0600 from Victoria and was at LGW North by 0700. No line at Biz Elite and was checked in quickly with invite to the DL Crown Room in my palm. Now its no clubhouse being located in the bowels of LGW under the BA Terraces, with a stunning view of nothing! Lounge is comfortable with snacks & juices, the usual breakfast stuff.

Boarding was called at 0815 and we all shuffled off to gate 50, where priority was called quickly, and rigorously enforced! Onto the Boeing 777, and turn left to seat 3E. Seating on the 777 is 2x2x2 in Biz with 2 biz cabins of 5 rows each. Preflight drink and menu was quickly offered with typical southern charm everyone was addressed by name.

Doors were closed on time and after a quick take-off roll we were punching through the morning mist to the bright sunshine on top saying goodbye to the UK. Drinks were quickly offered and main course options taken. DL have a signature cocktail called a Mango Kiss mango infused vodka with apple cranberry shaken, not stirred.

Dinner was served about 90 mins after take off. Food as follows VS take note, the food on DL was good !

Italian Salami with grilled long-stem Artichoke with Red and Yellow Bell Peppers
Roasted Corn and Bell Pepper Chowder
Pan-roasted South American Tenderloin of Beef encanced by a Demi-glace, offered with sliced red potatoes, sauted Carrots and Squash.
Fine cheese plate with port.

Snacks and drinks with water were continuously provided throughout the flight and glasses were never left empty. Biz bathrooms for Biz pax was strictly enforced I know this a pet peeve of some posters here.

About 90 mins from ATL we were offered a cheeseburger or chicken cesaer salad.

The Biz Elite seat is not the UCS suite, but reclines about 160 degrees with great space between rows, quite comfy. Entertainment is like AVDO on the LGW 747s.

Decent to ATL, nobody in immigration and after a swipe of my visa, a few questions, prints and picture I was welcomed home

Sorry if this is rambling but DL played their A game and I was very happy. Compared to VS they stack up very well, and could giver VS a very stiff run for their money.
