No security line and right through to the gate. Plane was the usual MD-80 with 12 seats in first, so I felt pretty fortunate to get the upgrade. Alaska serve very good coffee in china mugs, and a produced a pretty good apple danish and yoghurt for breakfast.
An early arrival, saw my through the airport and into my rental car in record time. BTW Chevrolet HHR - dumb car, the window controls are down on the central instrument panel by the gear stick - right where the ashtray is in most sensible cars. The lady at the parking exit, had to hold up a card to tell me how to open the window (I'm clearly not the first person bemused by the latest piece of Detroit innovation!)
Back on the 4:15, which actually was late taking off. It had come through from Anchorage, and the passengers had been asked to get off, apparently a family with small children took that as carte blanche to wander off to parts unknown. Anyway, we actually opened the door, not once but twice before we took off, with some grumbling from those of us in 1st.
A very humourous crew member took drink orders, which were delivered very promptly after take off. Some cheese and biscuits and a double gin and I was ready for a power nap. I don't know whether it's this airline or just this route, but on sunny days (admittedly few in Seattle) the pilot gives a running commentary of mountains, volcano's, rivers etc.
All in all, I was delivered where I needed to be in reasonable comfort, with good service, nice food and on time. Who can ask for more?
