Travelled back to the airport with a BA silver exec club card holder, so managed to get Terraces lounge access. Even here, the staff are outsourced to Aviance! Odd that BA seem to be outsourcing everything at Glasgow, since the have quite a lot of flights from here....at the moment!?!?! The lounge is nothing special, although somewhere to grab a snack and a quick drink before the flight. Although the white wines were both warm and therefore had to use an ice cube to chill it down (not the best way to drink wine!).
Flight called on time and short walk from the lounge to the gate. Boarded and there must have been a total of 30 of us on board! Moved myself once the door was shut from an aisle to seat, to a group of 3 empty ones (and I suppose the other 15 seats in front / next to / behind as well were all mine as they were also empty!).And 3 crew to look after us. Rapid sandwich round after take-off - BLT (or egg and cress I think) - very tasty! Followed by a drinks round - all the service was done within 25 minutes of take off. Managed to fit in another bottle of mini-wine.....would have been rude not to! [:D] Very friendly crew, who I am sure appreciated the quiet trip back to London, and the chance for the 3 of them to have a good old chat at the front!![:p]
The only real downside was that it was a really awful day in London, so didn't get the usual great views over London on the approach. However after landing the bags were off pretty much as quick as people could walk over to the terminal building! And we managed to land 15 minutes ahead of schedule!
Now if only the DLR could have been running so well....
