Having had some luck at the casino in New Orleans, I was prepared to shell out the $90 for the on the day upgrade if available. However no such luck this time, as it transpired later that the flight was completely full! 2 bags checked in (stuff accumulated from the work part of the trip in New Orleans) - initially one was over and the the other underweight. A bit of re-arranging meant that one was only 3 pounds over.....and then I got charged $50 for that. I should have routed around and put more in my hand luggage but I had already built up a queue with the rearranging.

The flight was pretty ok. For some reason there was no entertainment on the return trip. Single drinks round in coach, with soft drinks being free and everything else $5 a go. Served with the same premium luxury snacks as in First on the way to New Orleans. Was surprised to see that this flight parked up next to the VS plane, I was to be flying back to LHR on about 4 hours later!! Nice surprise.

There were a few slight problems with this flight:
1. Person on the end of my row started to get rather annoyed when the FA tried to take away his hafl-empty can....and I could see that it was almost going to get nasty.

2. Baggage reclaim at Miami is a complete nightmare and took for ever, and my suitcase was dropped by the look of it and rather damaged. This meant a rather long wait in a queue with everyone whose bags had missed flights.....seemed to be a lot rather worryingly. However once I was seen, it was relatively painless and I was issued with a reference form to sort it out in London (which I did after VS had flown it back!)
