After a relatively quick drive from central London, we dropped the car off at the BA valet parking area and headed for Zone R at Terminal 1. As we only had hand luggage, it made it a relatively quick process of getting the boarding cards (dont approve of the rather basic plain white with no colour ones that BA use), then through the premium check-in area security. Had a quick wander around and then headed to Terraces Lounge (definitely not a VS lounge). Relatively busy, but managed to find some seats. Not much to say about the lounge, apart from there wasnt much food choices and I dont understand BSs obsession with Chardonnay!

Flight was 20 minutes late, although boarding was relatively quick when we got there as they had boarded everyone else. Doors closed and then we sat there. For at least another 30 minutes due to lack of availability of a tug to push us back hope they sort this perpetual problem out when they move to T5. Hot towels were down on the ground and I mean HOT!!

After take-off no separate drinks round, even though it was an evening flight and over 2 hours long. Think that dinner was already cooked with the delays! Choices were a Chicken Tikka Massala or some veggie antipasta thing! The curry was REALLY good, although a larger portion would have been appreciated. No dessert, just some cheese and biscuits and a couple of choccies. Served with champagne (of course), although I notice it is no longer Piper! Trays not collected for ages in the end my travelling companion took them back to the galley (where they were all having a good old natter!!). The rest of the flight was unremarkable, although the crew were attentive at making sure people had drinks throughout the flight.

All in all a good flight, despite the delays, which was made up by the really good curry!!
