After a very brief trip to Sweden, it was time to head back on the train via Malmo to Copenhagen airport. Had checked in on line the afternoon before and noticed the crash landing at LHR that lunchtime. Wasn't sure how this would affect my return to the UK, but my flight seemed to be ok, although 2 of the other flights from CPH had already been cancelled.

Arrived early at CPH airport, and walked the long distance to the BA check-in desks. As it was about 3 hours before the flight, the place was empty and a notice saying that the desks opened 2 hours before the flight. Collected my boarding card from the self check-in and then popped to the ticket desk only to be told 'we only sell BA tickets, but we have no idea about flight times and delays'. Therefore decided the only thing to do was to head through to the lounge (supposedly a Terraces Lounge). Anyway on arrival, the desk agent said the flight was on time and nothing to worry about. However as I walked away, the next person phrased the question differently - and found out that the inbound flight hadn't yet left and was due in about an hour late! And that CPH turn-around time was 2 hours!! Decided that it was best to do some work. No computers here - bring your own only and it is pay for internet access - not that impressed for a Terraces lounge. As my laptop was low on battery, asked for a UK adapter (with BA being a British airline, thought that the lounge would have one) only to be told that I had to bring my own! Not a good start, but I managed to borrow one off another passenger.

Food options in the lounge - salami sandwich, cheese sandwich, fruit (beware the black bananas and super-hard pears). Decided that I fancied something a bit more, so went back out into the terminal and found a nice restaurant and had a very tasty thai chicken with rice over looking the apron and runway. Went back to the lounge and asked what the update on the plane was - now due an hour late, but turnaround time down to 40 minutes. Asked if they knew what the expected arrival time was - no chance! Was told that they don't have that information, but if necessary I could personally go on the BA website and find it out that way (of course only if I paid!!).

In the end the flight was an hour late arriving, they managed to turn it around and get everyone boarded within about 45 minutes, which I was impressed with. Then the pilot re-negotiated an immediate push-back and take-off with an expected flying time of 1 hr 35 mins. Flight itself was relatively unremarkable - good service and afternoon tea. The only odd thing was that about 5 times during the flight, all of the cabin lights went off.....not that reassuring after the events of the day before! On arrival in LHR area, did one circuit of the stack before our approach - impressed that no long holding. Managed to catch a glimpse of the B777 on the other runway during landing and then on crossing the runway on the way to T4. Parked at the terminal, but at a gate requiring steps. This unfortunately meant a 20 minute wait for the driver of the steps to turn up....surprised that this was co-ordinated a bit better.

All in all the flight was fine, but the Terraces lounge needs a review of the services available, and the staff in Copenhagen really need some additional training on customer service. Highlights that BA really needs to look at its ground staff, since on both journeys their attitude was really not professional!

Great TR, shame about the staff in the lounge, in light of what had happened at LHR, you would thought they would be more helpful????

I understand that facilities can vary (e.g. computer access, food etc) but what I really needed to know was what time I was likely to be back in the UK so I could co-ordinate things......I dread to think what Euro Traveller passengers thought was going on!
