Finally the trip comes to an end and we return home.

Arrived @ SIN about 2 1/2 hrs before the flight, check in yet again was very quick, about 10 desks open and no queues. Few mins later we were off to the departures lounge, again having snagged exit seats in Y on the upper deck.

No security, it's done at the gate, so a breeze through immigration with the now customary smile and happy immigration officer who thanked us for visiting and said 'come back soon'.

Mrs Chumba did some shopping, made up for what she missed at KUL by looking at the credit card statements.

Boarding was called about 50 mins before take off, so off we went to the gate. Through the security channel at the gate which took a few minutes but nothing major. Then sat at the gate area. Boarded with the business passenegrs onto the upper deck and into our seats. (one thing about exit row 71 on upper deck is there is no overhead storage it's taken up by safety equipment. So hand luggage is taken away by FA and put into a cupboard in business, so make sure you get out what you need for the flight.

Welcome drinks and doors shut 10 mins late and so we had a delay to take off of about 20 mins.

Once in the air drinks and snacks served quickly, again definate advantage to being on the upper deck, normaly about 3-4 crew for just 50ish Y pax.

Turned the IFE on to watch a film as it was a day flight so probably not much sleep going to happen. BUT the IFE wasn't working properly so had to be rebooted which took 1/2 hr and still wasn't working properly. Lead steward apologised and said he would need to speak with engineers in SIN to rectify the problem. It took about 4 hrs to get it working but they did everything possible to sort it out. Luckily i had my archos with me and had stuff on there to watch.

Once the IFE was up and running watched, transporter 3 and a couple of episodes of ashes to ashes which passed 3 hrs.

Meal was served which was beef and potatoe which was scrummy, beef was like a rump steak and cooked to perfection. yet again metal cutlery. Pudding was lemon ice cream yummmy [y]

Several drinks services were done and had a Singapore Sling and a few beers. Even though a regular drinks service happened FA's kept coming round with water and juice as well.

Later on a light meal was served, it was a pasta with chciken in, upon opening the meal it looked not very appetising at all, didn't look cooked properly even though it was pipng hot. Several other passengers had the same looks on their faces when it was served and most people left it. That said everything else the salad, and dessert etc were very nice.

Actually did manage to get a couple of hours sleep, , few more drinks and we were coming in to land.

Landed about 50 mins late and had landed at the time of several other big flights so even though we were off the plane quickly, bit of a scrum at UKBA. Handed passport over to the UKBA officer who never uttered one word, and when he finished swiping my passport threw it onto the desk and carried on talking to the female colleague next to him about where he was going after work, not very professional and nothing like KUL or SIN.

Bags were off as we got to the carousel, but as usual with LHR no trolleys, a few turned up and there was the scrum to bag one which i managed to. About 20 mins wait and one bag appeared, another 10 mins and the second one appears.

Straight out through customs and luckily the car was waiting for us as we exited the building and off home.

Again an excellent SIA flight, staff very helpful and always there for you, only draw back was the problem with the IFE and the evening meal, but overall excellent.

Shame about IFE not working for so long, and what was that chicken thing all about? first meal sounded great and then a virgin special meal later, sounds very inconsistent.

cheers
