The departure lounge at LCY has been expanded since I last flew from there - feels much more spacious now. Boarding was from Gate 22, in the new extension. Went when it was called, to find a long queue down the stairs. By the time I reached the desk, they had already started boarding. Once on board, I remembered how small the luggage bins are - my carry on bag, which was almost at the limits of what is allowed, only just fitted into the bin. However, there was only about 10 people in six rows of Club. I had a whole row to myself (I moved from one side to the other, when the person in front reclined into me).
Everyone in Club was offered a bottle of water on boarding - nice touch. Shortly after take-off, breakfast was served, with each tray being carried from the galley. The trays are smaller than on standard BA club europe services, although the food was good - bacon/scrambled egg/tomato/sausage, fruit salad, juice, bread rolls and coffee. No pastries on this service - not such if this is an LCY thing or a cut-back to save money? After this, settled back to read the paper and magazines. The purser was very keen on serving anyone in Club some alcohol - I did give in and have some champagne (with one to go).
All too soon, it was time to land. Due to the small size of the ARJ, it was off gate parking, so we had to wait for everyone to get off and onto one bus before we took a very long drive around the airport to the arrivals. Straight through, and then the long walk to the train station.
The crew were very good and attentive before and during the flight. The only let-down was the issue with getting a boarding card (which although my fault for using the wrong credit card, it was annoying that you aren't allowed to try a different one).
