Another excellent trip with ANZ.

The lounge in terminal 1 is obviously not up to Club House standards but other than that and the lack of tier points {2 instead of 5} ANZ once again IMHO offered a far superiopr service to my beloved VS.

Once boarded I was sat with glass of bubbly in hand and watching a movie within minutes, surely VS could start their IFE before take off as well. Service through out flight was excellent, addressed by name on several occasions and senior cabin crew lady introduced herself had a chat with everyone in the Business Premier cabin. Meals and wines served were good. IFE switched off shortly after landing.

An excellent experiance all round.

Interesting post about the IFE, as that was always something I'd wondered about too. This isn't a VS thing. It comes down to CAA regulations, which is apparently down to the fact most accidents happen on take off or landing, and the CAA are concerned about people tripping up on headphone cords while they're trying to leave the plane.

NZ are not licensed by the same regulatory body, so they're able to do something different. Rest assured that if VS was able to do it, I'm sure they'd do it in a second, as I'm sure BA would too.

My two cents on this is that I'd rather put up with no IFE on take off than risk being hindered by headphone wires etc in an evacuation.

The gripe I have with VS is that they seem very eager to get the IFE off ages before landing.
