Some of you may recall the partly successfull attempt at partnership between the Nigeran government and Virgin Atlantic which led to the creation of Virgin Nigeria. The end result of this was Air Nigeria.

This TR is about my 1 hr flight from Lagos - the commercial centre to Abuja -the nation's capital.

This was supposed to be a 14:30 flight from Lagos to Abuja so I left my office at 13:00 with the intention of getting to airport at 13:45. However even though I was 5 minutes away from the airport by 13:30, I managed not to get to the airport until 14:30 thanks to the legendary Lagos traffic. Convinced that I'd missed the flight, I was going to the customer service desk to pay the re-booking fee when I heard the announcement for the arrival of VK46. Lucky me eh? ):

So I made a detour to the check in desk, confirmed that I was stll able to check n for the flight, checked in and made my way to the departure lounge which was rather hot. I didn't linger there and quickly took the elevator up to the VIP lounge. For the reasonable sum of Two thousand Naira (about £8) you get a snack and cold drinks, but most importantly, comfortable sofas and aircon.

Eventually boarding was announced at 15:30 so I left the lounge and headed to the plane (I think it was aBoeing 737-400) and boarded immediately. Cabin crew were definitely trained by VS and you still get the sense that you're on a Virgin flight as it's the same efficient and friendly service as you would expect.

All in all, it was a good flight and I felt I should put up a TR as a guide in case any V Flyers are ever in my neck of the woods
