Return trip from Glasgow. Caught the Express Bus from Buchanan bus station which with all the Glasgow traffic and roadworks took about 30 mins to get to the airport. Arrived at the check in desk –and dropped bags and collected boarding passes having done OLCI earlier in the day. Airport was fairly busy with it being a Friday before the Bank holiday weekend but still managed to get through security in 10 mins. Reasonable selection of shops and places to eat & drink. Headed to the BA departure area in good time and arrived there just as the inbound flight from London was arriving. Boarding commenced on time and as with the outward flight boarding was via the jet way & front door or via tarmac steps and the rear door. Aircraft was an Airbus A321 and as with the outward flight was totally full. Departed from the Gate a few minutes late just after 1430 with takeoff about 10 mins later. As with the outward flight food and drink was provided shortly after takeoff, which consisted of a choice of drink – alcoholic, soft drink or tea/coffee with a packet of crisps or a cookie. Flight time was only 55 minutes and landed at Heathrow at 1540 with arrival at the Gate some 10 mins later. Quite impressed by Terminal 5 and did not take too long to get off the aircraft and down to baggage claim. Bags arrived very quickly and then exited the terminal and headed for the Heathrow Express back to London. Arrival back at Paddington only about 50 mins after landing.
As with the outward found BA to be reliable and efficient and would use them again.
