Thought I'd do a quick TR on the journey back down to Miami to catch the VS006 home.

Left Saratoga Springs around 9am and the journey took 22mins stopping at both tolls to pay (which are now up to $1.50) which was pretty quick

Car handed back and felt a little strange taking cases out of the boot to check in.

Check in for AA is in terminal A and it started very well by offering me an upgrade to first for $34.

To check 2 cases in costs you $60 - First gives you 3 free cases ?| go figure ?|

It was a little strange to be leaving from the other side of the airport but I was soon through security (new body scanners now) and on my way to the gate.

Free wifi (unlike MIA) helped fill in the time and the boarding call soon came.

Now again, procedures are maybe different for AA in the US but boarding card scanned at gate then no more checks. Walked onto aircraft. Cabin crewmember could barely lift his head, turned right then realised I should have went left for the first cabin. Nothing said.

Nice big seats with plenty of legroom. Was soon offered a drink and then we were off.

Flight time of 42 mins - seat belt sign off for around 8 mins then started our decent.

Was offered another drink and a bag of bird seed. Front Cabin had more staff travelling than customers.

A little bumpy coming into Miami and soon off into what looked like the new part of the airport.

Bags through quick then upstairs to checkin for the 006.

Overall, flight good, still a bit sloppy with bags on floor, people playing with phones while heading towards the runway, glasses still with customers during takeoff etc but cheap upgrade was gratefully accepted.

Meant to say, miles / tier points posted very quickly for flight up. I assume the same for this one.

Thanks

David
