Forgot to post this at the time. For reasons that will become clear...

I had spent a week in Wick, and it was time to come home.
After a three hour coach journey from Wick to Inverness I headed out to Inverness Airport.

I had checked in online and Inverness Airport is a breeze, I was there a bit too early for check-in so waited in the airport cafe, armed with my lounge pass, (£12 from easyJet rather than £19 booked direct with Servisair) waiting for the call to the departure lounge.

Finally it was time to go through, and I headed straight to the Highland Lounge. Needless to say, it's no Clubhouse, the reception area of the Heathrow Clubhouse would swallow it up. But it was my home for three hours. And would be my undoing.

This was what I was looking for...

I did a little 'plane spotting.

And a Little Plane spot.

The lounge let you mix your own drinks and that's where I made my signature drink, the triple T&G.

To make a T&G you need:

- A dash of tonic
- Four shots of gin. It's called a triple T&G because a quadruple T&G makes me sound like I have an alcohol problem, and I most certainly do not.

As the afternoon went on, I had a few more drinks.

Now on to my pet hate

They may as well say Asda Smart Price. I have nothing against Asda, but I think when you are sitting in an Executive Lounge, you don't need it thrust in your face that you are in an Executive Lounge.

Anyway... more planes arrived!

I had a drink to finish!

I will now pass you over to my Facebook updates on the day:

EasyJet (yes. Sigh) have just landed. I dont want to leave this lounge! It's tiny but perfect. Please don't make me go!

Soon enough it was time to board the fairly immaculate 'plane.

FACEBOOK
I am officially wasted

At this point, the aircraft was spinning. I was in a cold sweat and regretting every drink.

I coudn't finish the G&T I ordered on board and handed it back to the steward, who looked concerned.

The passenger next to me whispered "Are you OK?". I grabbed the sickbag and closed my eyes.

FACEBOOK

Worst. Flight. Ever. I drank too much and wanted to be vomit but my concern for my fellow passengers stopped me. So I had to swallow it.

Thankfully the 40 winks did the trick.

I nipped to the loo to freshen up, as I looked shit.

FACEBOOK
That was a most difficult flight.

Later...

The plane is *outside*.
I can see it:
15 minutes since landing and still no sign of ANY luggage

Later still...

Baggage Reclaim: the great leveller

I finally got my suitcase and headed out to catch the train to London.

Back to Facebook...

I actually recovered by the time I got to the train station, where a glorious sunset was on display.

One of the best (ie honest) TRs ever LOL :D .
DL the Elder lost her passport between fastrack security and the VS lounge at IAD last year whilst stone cold sober ( the boarding card was found but no passport ). Thank heaven for VS back in the UK who worked very hard to get her on the plane , airbourne and back home :).We didn't think we'd make the flight so we quaffed several large glassses of medicinal fizzy drinks in the VS lounge at IAD and were walked on board (like "real " VIPs ) just before take off :) due to their Sterling efforts :) .
