Back to the flight. I checked in using the self service machine and dropped off my bag without speaking to anyone which was kind of neat except I did actually hand my bag across to someone but she just didnt talk.....

I had a one-day pass for the Delta Sky club so made my way up. The lounge is being remodelled but had the usual choice of drinks and snacks and though it was 0730 in the morning, I just wanted coffee and juice. The lounge failed to impress me but it was just about better than waiting on the concourse but not by much

The flight was not called so as directed went to the gate 35mins before departure and true enough the CRJ900 was waiting for me and boarding began on time....I was in 3A so boarding in the first group and found the individual seat comfortable - nice and wide and good legroom though the regional jet was kind of tiny

A bottle of water was waiting for me on the side table along with a pillow and blanket on the seat. More water was offered before take off and our drink orders were taken for after take off whilst we taxied. We took off at 0922
This was going to be a quick flight....actually it was 50mins but two rounds of drinks were offered in proper glassware and china mugs - bloody marys were going down a storm but I stuck with juice and coffee and the snack basket was offered a couple of times too - chips, peanuts, cookies, pretzels and fruit. Interestingly, a cup of water was only offered in economy as time didn't permit anything else.....

The crew were friendly, chatty and liked a laugh or two so it made for a really enjoyable flight. We touched down just after 1015 and then a quick taxi to the gate.
Then it was over to T3 for my flight to Manchester.....
