Return leg part 2.
After an enjoyable afternoon in Alice Springs headed back to the airport.
Straight through security and to the gate. At 1545 flight was called - very early - and made our way to plane. The only one there. Again no jetways just stairs. They were using both doors to board but didn't mention this - was amazed to see that everyone automatically used the appropriate door to their seat assignment.
We were in 25E & F on B738 so used the rear door. Again flight not full so we had three seats to spread out in. Video safety brief and off. 2h16m flight time announced and service would be dinner and drinks. The IFE was to be The Queen - you win some you loose some. Anyway about 10 mins later an announcement that The Queen was malfunctioning (the film!) and they would show Scoop. Well at least it was better than listening to the audio channels - slightly.
Dinner was pasta and sauce with a roll and a chocolate. Perfectly edible for Y food. $6 charge for alcohol - I have sussed out their policy on this as I have had free alcohol on trips to SYD and ADL with them. Oh well still not overly expensive.
Non eventful flight good views of red nothingness and arrived 15 mins ahead of schedule.
Wasn't relishing the idea of a 5.5 hour layover but the trip into Alice itself was worth it. Saw the telegraph station and the Flying Doctors and had a nice lunch.
Another good flight from Qantas. I am actually beginning to prefer them over DJ - due to the IFE.
