I would not normally write a TR about this route or any other BA Europe route as this is usually like a bus service for me, but I was quite shocked about this one.

I was fairly much last on board due to a few last minute docs to sign before heading off on hols. Welcomed on board by name, I am a lower than lower blue member even though on this occasion I was flying in CE.
Usual drinks order taken shortly after the crew were released and again addressed by name. Double scotch arrived[y]with ginger ale,
Food order was taken, which basically was a prawn and pasta/tomato sauce dish or lamb stew. I opted for the lamb.
What arrived I can honestly say was the best meal by far that I have ever had on an aircraft. The lamb stew (generous helping)had a rich gravy sauce with peppercorn, boiled potatoes, carrots & brocolli. Ok the brocolli was a liitle soft but the rest was sublime. Meat was moist and tender and melted in the mouth, gravy was delicious. I was gobsmacked. All washed down with a reasonable Syrah. Best bit though was when the purser came round with some more bread rolls asking if I wanted to use it for 'wiping up the gravy'[oo]. No training would cover that.
Brilliant.
If VS can match that on Wednesday I will be a happy man.
A great CE flight, good drinks service, excellent food, and extra bread rolls for the gravy.
I had to pinch myself getting off the plane to make sure I was on BA.
