After landing at SFO from my LHR flight in Upper, I dashed through the airport to check into First on Virgin America. I had about an hour before the flight due to a slight delay so quickly popped up to the Virgin Clubhouse to get a snack and go online.. Met Claire for the first time who kindly let me in, gave me some Vegas tips and was just a sweetheart.

Got to the Virgin America gate about 10 mins before we were due to take off, hung about for 15mins and then boarded. Upon boarded we were given a letter by the ground crew to say no inseat power, lights, massage, recline or IFE would be working on this service. Brilliant. The main reason I picked VA was to try these things.. Oh well.

My only gripe here is how as a First passenger you were actually missing out on more features despite paying more, yet were still offered a $25 the same as Economy against your next flight as an apology.

Flight took off about 25 mins late on total, and landed almost on time so that was good. The seat was comfy but wouldn't recline or anything due to the technical problems, had a few drinks which were constantly offered, took some nice photos out of the window (they're on the photo gallery) had the strange three mini foods in a pot food, one was some meat thing which I didn't each, another strawberry's and pudding and a mozzarella chilli pepper thing which was ok.

Not much really to say about this flight, it got me to Vegas and then I stayed at The Flamingo for 2 nights in a swish Go Room, which I'd highly recommend, and them moved over to Caesars in the Augustus Tower for their Comedy Festival which was great. Saw Love, Penn & Teller, Lance Burton, Phantom, Jerry Seinfeld, Tim Minchin and Eddie Izzard all the shows were great, although I personally preferred Ka and O to Love.

Oh I also did this from my window at the hotel.

Thanks for the trip report. What a shame so much went wrong, especially as it was your first trip and therefore first experience with VX. $25 doesnt cut it for the AA/UA passengers they may be trying to entice. Love your time elapse film though. [y]

Thanks,
Sarah

shame about the VX experience not being 'first class' and slightly worrying that the seat was already broken given how 'new' they are!

I think it was a tech problem with the whole plane, not just the seat... seemed that way to me. Am writing to see if I can get more than $25 so will let you know
