On line check-in seemed to give me a rather odd seat - 2D despite most of the cabin being empty (apart from the A/C seats)! Changed myself to 1F thinking that this was the next best option. Headed out to LHR on the underground - confusing that only every other tube seems to give T4. When I eventually got there and then headed up to check-in to print my boarding card, realised that the only self-service check-in kiosks where in the economy zone - little strange but there you go. Headed through fast track, which was relatively fast and then headed to the lounge at Gate 1. Seemed fairly busy, but plenty of seats - think the HKG/SYD flight was delayed.

Gate closing came and went, with no flight call. Went to the desk and asked and they said 'oh don't worry the flight is running a little late', so felt reassured. FLight called about 10 minutes later and left loounge as soon as it was called. As I exited the lounge there was a call for the last remaining passengers, so I started briskly walking to Gate 19 - a long walk indeed. Half-way there was 'last 2 passengers to gate immediately or they will be denied boarding'....so my brisk walk became a run. Arrived at the gate and was told I was lucky to have made the flight! I tried to explain that I had left the lounge when called, and the rather blunt response was 'well the flight isn't late and the gate closing is clearly on your boarding card so what did you expect'. As I got on the plane (which was basically empty), I looked a little puffed from the run and was offered a glass of water. This was accompanied by 'oh you shouldn't have run as we aren't going anywhere for a while!!'. In the end we left the departure gate 30 minutes late and took-off almost an hour late (something to do with a late tug!).

Flight itself was unremarkable. Afternoon tea consisted of 2 sandwich triangles (one cheese and the other nto entirely sure and therefore didn't eat it!), meat pie, slice of cake and scones. Accompanied by tea (of course), water offered without asking and then some diet coke (no drinking January here!). Little bit turbulent on the descent into CPH, and a slightly heavy landing followed by a long taxi to the 'A' gates.

Now a friend was travelling on SAS from Terminal 3, leaving at 14:05 (same time as my scheduled departure). They left on time and arrived in CPH, waited for luggage to arrive and still had 35 minutes before I arrived. Not very impressed that I lost the race (and I only had carry on bag....would have been longer if I had been waiting for checked baggage!).

Overall a relatively good flight, but the ground crew at LHR T4 need to go on a customer relations course and learn to be polite and appropriate with passengers!

TFL have now introduced the T5 Underground timetable with of course the T5 tubes currently stopping short at T1,2,3 until T5 opens hence the confusion.
