Having been to Split in Croatia a good few years ago, I was looking forward to the opportunity of a paid trip to Zagreb. Checked in at Terminal 2 and then headed through security. No-one anywhere which was a real change for Terminal 3. Once through in the departure lounge it seems really small and depressing to me. The Lufthansa business lounge isn't much better.

Flight was almost an hour late - the usual delay on the inbound flight. The gate area is very confusing - 4 gates from one tiny area. Boarding was called by seat row, with business called last for some reason. Once on board (Boeing A319) the business cabin is only 3 rows, with the centre seat of both sides turned into a table, with the other 2 seats made wider. Offered a drink on boarding and opted for champagne.

After take-off food was served very quickly. Hot meal consisting of chicken, pesto and pasta with hot rolls, a salad and a cheesecake desert. Served with some more champagne and sparkling water. Tray cleared as soon as food was finished - very efficient service. Although there were only 2 passengers in business and 1-2 cabin crew to look after us. Drinks continued to be served throughout the flight and there were complimentary Croatian pepper biscuits bought around on several occassions.

Arrival in Zagreb was interesting - 5 Croatian Airline planes on the apron plus ours, which is a lot considering they only have 11 planes! Immigration was slow, but nice to get a passport stamp for such a short journey. Baggage off really quickly and off into the sunshine of Zagreb.[8D]
