Got a lift to EDI from a work colleague in a rather dirty Peugeot Partner van (real classy eh?) and was quickly esconsed in the bmi lounge near gate 6. I had checked in online via the Lufthansa website but still had to go the the desk to collect the boarding cards and got all 4 presented to me (EDI-FRA, FRA-WAW, WAW-BRU & BRU-EDI) even though OLCI would only check me in for 3 of the 4 flights. Security was very quiet so I was in the lounge in about 2 mins! I was the only person in it for about an hour so tinkered on the Acer Aspire One netbook that Id bought myself recently and sunk a few Buds followed a by a G&T or two.
LH4941 was scheduled to go at 1345 so I wandered the short distance to gate 1E at about half past just in time for boarding starting. Aircraft was a 733 D-ABEW and I had seat 4D. Lufthansa have a table that drops down in the B & E seats which is quite handy and the seat pitch was generous.
Took off right time but service didnt start for about 45 mins due to turbulence it wasnt that bad actually but I did note that we were still in cloud at 37000 feet! A cold dish of veg and prawns was served which was quite pleasant accompanied by ONE drinks round which I thought was pretty poor but as the flight was only 1h 40m they didnt really have time to do much more.
Arrival into a cold Franfurt (-2) was announced by a positive landing then we were bussed off the plane.
Planked myself in the LH lounge near gate 44 for a few hours and started off badly by having a bottle of Becks only to find that it was ALCOHOL FREI !!!!!! I rushed to the nearest toilet, stuck my fingers down my throat then composed myself and found the draught proper stuff very close by. More details of the lounge in the LOT FRA-WAW TR.
