We left MGM Grand a little better off than we've ever done after a few wins on the penny slots so smiled for the first time at not being broke.

A little disappointed with the Hollywood suite booked as it was on 6th floor overlooking the hotel's loading bay and the back of the strip. Luckily though, it didn't disturb our sleep.

Weather was great in Vegas and on 25 Feb people were even sitting out by the pool. Watched the Nascar truck parade outside the hotel for 10 minutes too.

Our Virgin America flight left LAS at 12.45 which is a really busy time for internal flights. After a quick check in, bags were taken and retained 1AC again, we headed towards the security channel which was rammed. Thankfully, we didn't have to use this and first class channel was really quiet. Through very quickly and had a quick look around the domestic terminal which in comparison to the international terminal in Vegas is so much better. A good range of shops and eateries were available.

Boarded quickly and greeted by the chief stewardess. Their uniforms are a white blouse, with a grey skirt or trousers and a red cardigan. The grey skirts had s small split at the back with a purple zip which looked as if the split could be decreased/increased as desired. This zip was also on the sides too. Not sure if this helped if they needed to climb on anything or increase their stride but thought this was unusual.

The pilot came round and greeted everyone personally in first class which I thought was a nice touch (there were only 6 people on this flight in 1st) and said he'd just flown from New York so the weather was a lot warmer here for him.

Headsets were given out and watched a couple of episodes of Big Bang theory and had a quick drink and the 3 shot glass canapes again.

A short flight at 1hr 15mins and a fast landing into SFO followed.

First of the plane to retrieve the luggage quickly for our international VS checkin.

Leaving Vegas with money -I wish!!Shame the suite at the MGM had a grotty view. Glad VX did the job well - We had a great trip in First with them last August -the First cabin is a bit a of a departure from the usual staid offerings of US domestic carriers.Did you try the massage function on the seats in at all?
