I actually don't mind flying BA on domestic routes, as you get to go use T5. Got the tube out to LHR, and as always, ended up with delays on the Picadilly line! However, these were relatively minor (thankfully). Arrived at T5 and collected boarding pass, and headed off for 'fast bag drop'. All the desks near the tube end of T5 were certainly NOT fast - queues of 5 or 6 people at each. I wandered down the other end and there were loads of desks with no-one at all. Went through the security at that end - fewer channels and a big school group going through.....and every teenager had no idea about taking liquids out etc...very frustrating. Once through, a quick wander around the shops and then down to the Weatherspoons for a pint. Luckily our gate was that end as well, so no long walk back to the other end. Flight left about 10 minutes late and it was pretty much full. Although it is a short flight, BA still manage to do a meal service - prawn and salmon salad with dessert and some wine. Arrived a little early and then it was off to baggage reclaim and into Edinburgh!

All in all a good flight, I love using T5 as it is so light and airy and doesn't feel like the old T1 domestic at all. I wonder how long BA will continue to offer a full service on domestic - surely a way to cut costs???

I have wondered this too, but see this as the real differentiator between BA and the competition. I know I'll get a cup of tea and something to eat when I fly BA.

Thanks,

Hi,

It all depends on the time you fly with BA as to whether you consider BA to offer a full service. ( I think it is begining to go down the route of reducing the catering)

I flew on the 1610 EDI-LHR on the 12th July (180 fare) and all we got was tha packet of BIRDSEED!!!![n] ( comprises of savory bits and a lot of seeds) ( not even a napkin to wipe your hands as the savory bits are a bit greasy. ( Not that impressed)

On the 1900 EDI-LHR the previous Friday ( fare about 60) we got the salad for dinner which was ok.

At least on Low cost or bmi you have the option to buy something more substantial.

Regards
