The booking had been made through a travel agent, and therefore we couldn't upgrade it on line. Arrived at South Terminal on the train, and found that the transit was closed due to technical difficulties - I think it was actually a trial run for when it is closed permenantly. Walked to the forecourt and got the bus - no wait, but it was difficult standing up with a suitcase as we went flying round the corners.

Dropped outside the departures area, and walked to the Club check-in area (was travelling with a silver card holder). Asked about the option of on the day upgrades....initially not showing as an option, but after a few phone calls, all was sorted. Off to pay - unfortunately you don't get the additional Executive club points / miles for paying on the day. Managed to get a fast-track sticker, which saved some time on the security.

After a little bit of shopping (not using BAA Worldpoints card this time) it was time for the lounge. Relatively quiet, and much nicer on Floor 4. Even managed to get a glass or two of bubbles!! Let when gate came up as boarding, but unfortunately left something in the lounge (only realised when 30 mins into the flight - BA did try everything to get it out to us, but left it for colllection on return).

Not boarding when we actually got there - when it was called, it was a free for all. Settled down into 4C - busy up the front (about 7 rows, with 3 or 4 empty seats). Take off on time, and then it was time for drinks. We mentioned to the crew about our missing item, but there was nothing that they could do until they returned to base that evening. Dinner was then served - lamb moussaka or chargrilled chicken salad. The moussaka was ok - not that warm, and the potatoes could have done with more cooking. The lady behind us asked for a vegetarian option - the purser asked if she had pre-ordered one, as it was not normal to load them unless this was the case. She explained that her husband's secretary had changed the flight and hadn't done this. The purser tried as hard as he could to please her - he even offered a crew vegetarian sandwich.....to which she replied 'I'm not eating your food!'......followed by 'you have personally ruined my flight' and 'you shouldn't as a BA employee talk to me like that!'. This was followed by 'this tea is too stewed to serve to someone in Club!' Talk about toys and prams. Anyway, even her husband thought that she was creating a fuss about nothing. The purser asked for me details for the crew report form, which readily gave as she was totally out of order.

The rest of the flight passed quickly and quietly - landed a little early top a warm Palma evening!

Nope - I posted a topic a while ago about it being closed for a schedule upgrade.

Thank you for the TR, it is amazing how rude and unrealistic people can be. Hope you have a good time in Palma and your lost item is waiting for you on your return.

Hope you retrieve your lost item and enjoyed Palma, lovely city.

I wonder how many times CC have heard the 'my husband's secretary changed the ticket' line, what a DYKWIA lady!
