This was an overnight trip to Barcelona for a work meeting. After the train to Gatwick, it was the bus over to the North Terminal. Picked up boarding card from the machine and headed to immigration and security. It was like a ghost town, with no queues and was through very quickly!

Picked up some toiletries in Boots, and then off to the the lounge - fourth floor one as generally quieter and brighter. Both floors were very quiet. Caught up on some work and had a nibble - standard salad and soup (today was tomato - good with a bit of Tabasco). Lounge started to get busier, with more people starting to drink alcohol (I saved myself for the plane!).

Headed on down to the gate, and after a short while boarding for Club Europe and Silver/Gold card holders. Settled into 2C in a relatively full five rows of Club.

Short taxi and quick take-off. Shortly afterwards drinks service commenced in club - noticed that the hot towels and pretzels have gone now (obviously part of the cost saving!). As it was between lunch and dinner it was 'afternoon tea' - four small triangle sandwiches, piece of cake and a scone. It was ok, but not as good as a proper meal service.

Worked after the food, and all too soon it was time to land. BA now use T1 - the new glass terminal in the middle of the airport. It is very spacious and quiet compared to the old T2. Headed off to grab a cab into town - seemed to me more organised than at T2.
