At the time of on line check-in, I was offered the opportunity of upgrading to Club Europe. Didn't realise that this happened at LHR as well as LGW, especially as I as booked through a travel agent. Thought for a while and came back a few hours later - still an option, so decided to upgrade outbound but not return. Once checked-in, realised that there were only 3 people booked into Club Europe including myself - managed to get 1A.

The journey out was by a pre-booked car service - realised when we were almost at LHR that I had left my house keys in the office! What a disaster. Got to T3 and decided to drop bag off and collect boarding pass and then head back half-way to meet someone coming from work. Unfortunately there was no-one at the Club check-in area and was almost sent off to EuroTraveller to check-in.....however someone senior decided to come over to sort things out. Then it was a mad dash to the central underground station and off to meet someone at Acton Town. Suffice to say after a lot of stress and worry on my part, they arrived and I headed back to LHR. Luckily fast track this time was fast (had grabbed book at WHSmith opposite as shorter queue normally). Then rushed to BA galleries lounge, quick visit to toilet to freshen up and then it was time for a glass of wine and some chicken curry. Had made it to the lounge by about 15:40 which meant I had about a 30 mins there.

When flight came up as boarding wander to Gate 24 and the bus journey to the plane. Only 2 people in Club Europe - no wonder they had offered the chance of an upgrade! Once everyone was on board and the doors were closed, the captain came on and told us we would have to wait 30 minutes due to congestion at LHR before we could push back. I have to say that these days you always seem to get a congestion related problem at LHR - the government need to sort it out or people will stop going via LHR!!! After pushback it was a slow taxi down to the runway and then off to Barcelona.

After take-off offered a drink which came with some nibbles! Food was either a chicken salad (cold) or "white fish" with vegetable and potatoes with some red peppers on the side (hot). I opted for this which turned out to be very tasty - not entirely sure what the fish was, but by vegetables they meant lots of leeks!!

Flight was relatively quick with good service in Club and ensured I had a plenty of champagne to drink on the flight. Arrived at T1 at BCN and off through immigration to pick-up my bag. Despite having 12 or 14 baggage belts, everyone seems to get crowded onto just a few of them......bags took ages to start coming out although mine was the second BA bag off. Then off to grab a taxi into BCN.

All in all a very pleasant flight - would have been much more relaxing if I hadn't forgotten my keys - nice to be in a business cabin which is quiet as you feel more "special".

Well the solution was to be the 3rd runway but thats gone for a burton and their other strategy is to regulare BAA even more which won't work either as many of the problemas are airline operator and not airport operator related.
