This trip was booked for the weekend before my 24th birthday (3rd May) well in advance before the royal family decided to hold a big wedding in London the day before.
As some of you may have seen in an earlier feed i tried to check in early to get my first SEQ1 but failed to do so getting SEQ25.
SO on a nice sunny Friday lunchtime i left my Salisbury home to travel to LHR for an overnight stay before my 07:25 flight.
despite flying out of T5 i decided to book the Travelodge on Bath Road for the night as it was cheaper (due to the wedding all hotels were more expensive than usual) and you can use the 111 bus service from LHR central for £2.10 rather than the hotel hopper for £4 each way.
I have pictures of the Travelodge here Outside Room towards window room and bathroom

Early Saturday Morning it was time to leave the Travelodge and make my way to T5 to print a boarding pass (needed a bookmark!) and to go through Security to a very quiet departure lounge picture here and then a few mins later accross on the underground transit system to terminal 5B and gate B42 to board G-EUXK an Airbus A321 which was very full with only 4 or 5 empty seats.
the aircraft was on its first trip of the day and so was clean although there were marks on the carpet between the seat and the wall/window and on the tray table
Shortly after take off we were served Breakfast ham tomato and mayo roll with Orange Juice.

our routing took us south out of London and crossing the south coast the pilot announced we has started our primary descent in to Paris.

the flight was a little bumpy in places and landing was a bit bouncy although that could have been due to me sitting in the back row.

the seat was comfortable enough for short haul but in my opinion i have flown in more comfortable aircraft.
seat row 33 ABC

after landing we had a short taxi to CDG terminal 2A past one of the surviving AF Concorde fleet Picture to our gate and out through French immigration in under 10 mins (as most of the pax on the flight had US passports and so had to join the other que.

i hope all the photo links are working.
Return TR will follow in a few days

Thanks for the TR, you chose to fly not train!

Interesting that most of the passengers had US passports, sounds like BA is doing well from connecting pax arriving early into T5 on transatlantic flights ...

as i booked early i looked at BA/AF from LHR Easy Jet from Bristol Or Gatwick Fly Be from Southampton and the Euro-star from London.
looking at how much it costs to get there and park or connect by train BA were actually the cheapest option followed by Air France :0
