Arrived at LCY a little earlier than probably necessary, but didn't want to take any chances! Dropped suitcase at the Club Desk, where there was a friendly check-in agent, and my bag was tagged with one of the LCY Club World priority tags.
Through the automated security gates, a quite security and into the departures lounge. Sat by the windows and watched the few planes come and go. A little before 09:00, our flight status changed to "next info 09:20" - a little worrying as we were due to depart at 09:35. We could hear the 4 (!!) BA ground agents chatting away about "a plane doing a go around". It did look a little foggy outside and we kept fingers crossed. As we were by the window, we saw our plane land and taxi to the gate.....and then before it had even parked it came up as boarding. No idea why the previous change in status, but we boarded and departed on time.
Once in the air, the purser explained that there would be a hot breakfast service, which would be served with tea and coffee ONLY! Not sure if they usually expect people to drink alcohol at 09:35?? The breakfast was served quickly - we were in Row 1 - and was very much appreciated, although the tea was a touch too strong for my liking! Sat back and enjoyed an episode of West Wing on my iPad (I have seen it all before, but loved it so much, I am re-watching it again!).
We landed about 15 minutes early, and unfortunately we taxied to an off-terminal stand. The plane was so quiet, that they easily managed to get us all on one bus. It seemed like a long bus ride to the other end of the terminal, but we were dropped right by arrivals and the bags started to come off as we arrived at the baggage belt (we even managed to get the 11:00 airport bus into Edinburgh!).
Overall, a great flight and I love flying out of LCY as it is so easy (and closer to home than LHR / LGW).
