We got to the airport around about 2 hours before scheduled departure. Security was completely empty - no one apart from us, so were through very quickly.

Wandered through airport to find Terraces lounge. This is a pretty decent lounge - large and never seems to get that busy, usual range of snacks and good selection of spirits. Did some work and finally gave into having a glass of Sav Blanc - better wine selections than LHR.

Went to gate to find a scrum in front of the air bridge. Finally they made an announcement that priority boarding for executive club members was now happening - forgot to mention Gold/Silver, so bit of scrum. Finally managed to get through and onto plane.

Pilot explained that there were some LHR delays and so we didn't push back until 25 minutes after scheduled departure. Short taxi and then off to London. Crew efficient with drinks and were very friendly with passengers throughout.

Flight itself was quick down to London, but had about 15 minutes hold before final approach. Clear night and great views over London. Landed about 30 minutes late, left runway and taxied a bit before stopping. We sat there for a while before pilot explained that we were waiting for our gate to become free. Basically a couple more announcements and then 30 minutes later we finally arrived at the gate. Basically the departing plane was late and as a domestic arrival we couldn't go anywhere apart from the allocated gate.

Overall flight fine - 1 hour ish in the air and about 1 hour sitting on plane on tarmac in NCL/LHR! What a pain!

Sounds fun with all the holdups and you have got to love the scrums that form around the gates, sometimes before even boarding has been called.. part of air travel these days, clearly the plane will depart without people if you do not board in the first moments the doors are opened!!

Cheers for posting 8D
