We travelled down on the morning of the flight to meet one of the couples at Gatwick (the other two couples flew EasyJet
!!) We were greeted at bag drop by a very friendly agent who chatted throughout the process. We passed comment on the American woman at the desk next door, who obviously overpacked her bags, unloading all and sundries over the floor! Did I mention the USA onesie she was wearing....
A few beers in the Red Lion followed by another when a short delay was announced....then a dramatic change of time for closing of the gate led to a quick departure from the pub to gate 52. Once at the gate we wandered in line to the air bridge, boarded with smiles and direction to a full 737-400.
As we were walking down the aisle to our seats we passed through Club Europe and, I have to say, that it looked only slightly different to Y.
Our seats, 12EF, were perfect with the extra legroom of the Emergency Exit
Pilot announced that the flight to Marrakech would be around 3.15 and we took off around 13.15. Crew seemed friendly and warm. As we were taxiing we saw GVAST stranded away from any gate - what was that about
?? Drinks were served around 40 mins into flight with pleasantries but when I went to enquire about a bottle of champagne for our friends 40th a little later I clearly was told 'we don't sell it Onboard' no 'sorry', no 'sorry but what else can we do'.....just plain no!!!
Oh well.......Lunch was delivered which consisted of a mozzarella & tomato wrap, biscuits & cheese and a Lily O'Brien's choc & caramel mousse. All very delicious but served in a matter of fact way
When then started our descent, had a smooth landing and exited the plane quickly through the front doors onto the apron outside arrivals.
In & out of immigration in 20mins, bag out nearly immediately and then out for a taxi to the Hotel Tichka!
I have to say that walking out into the Moroccan late afternoon sun was extremely pleasant!
So, in summary, a delayed start but decent flight with good food and ok service
