I seem to recall a load of Electronics and some camera shops in a big complex next to the Star Ferry Terminal at Kowloon.
I've bought computer bits from there in the past and not had any problem.

To be a little bit more general, I am thinking of buying a digital camera and am undecided as to what to buy. I like the look of the Panasonic range, but have no real idea what is best value. Can anybody make some suggestions at the best camera on the market between £150 and £200 and where is the best place to buy from, either in the UK or on the web.

Thanks for your help.

If you are looking for a camera and have a price range in mind go to http://www.dpreview.com and check out their reviews and relevant forums. More than enough information there for you to help make a decision.

Are cameras still a lot cheaper in HK than the UK?
Would like to purchase one that can actually take night shots (99% of everything taken using my existing camera comes out blurred or too dark) and if it's going to be far cheaper, I'd buy one out there rather than over here....

I took your advice and bought a little Casio, thanks. Apparently it is exactly the same as the more expensive Pentax.

I love it, really easy to use and offers great pictures. I am no longer in photos as I will not let anybody else use it.

To answer my own question now that I'm back, I can highly recommend Hermann Camera's in the mall adjacent to the IC Hotel in Kowloon. I found them to be very professional and competetive providing the proper international warranty for the lens I bought at a price that bettered the other stores I visited. I got the Canon 24-105 L IS for £640 vice the UK price of £870. Of course there is duty to pay when you arrive home and this has to be factored in... ahem.
