Poor IFE

Now we all know that VS has v-port, and very good it is too (mostly). However I have a few flights coming up with a 'lesser' airline, so I thought I would line myself up with some alternative entertainment. I looked at DVD players, but it is a lot of bulk to carry and the battery life ain't that great. So I looked at media players. But you have to pay for the download content. So I downloaded a free DVD ripper (for personal use only, so legal) and bought a 1meg gig SD card for my PDA. I now have about 15 movies and 3 series of coupling on my PDA. For battery power I can plug into my laptop (which I would be carrying anyway) or use the 'power pack' I have bought which gives 8 hours use.

And the bill - 1M card £38 and power pack £28. So for £66 I am pretty pleased[|:)]

Hang on. You are right. I mean a 1 GIG card [doh!]

I think this sounds really neat - I use my PDA for everything and having some films and stuff on a long journey or on holiday is a great idea.

So - can you let me know how you get it set up - e.g. where do I get the "ripper" from? and the power pack? I assume you use standard headphones or do you have something better?

and any other info would be very helpful
