I have a friend who is from the US (now a permanent UK resident) who went back for a wedding last week. They let me have a Bose order delivered to their family address - QC2's - to bring back for me (tax/VAT? ahem...)

I'm really impressed and look forward to seeing how they compare to my Schure SC2's which iritate my ears after an hour or so of wearing.

$300 - bargain compared to the UK price.

If you don't mind me asking - how much were they at the Apple store?

Ben,
I too like the QC2 for better fit. Be careful about breakage. Save any warranties that come with the package. Mine lasted about 2 years before one of the earpieces snapped. My fault: I left them out of the carry case and stuffed them into my briefcase while hurriedly deplaning.

A friend had this happen to a QC2 and they were happily swapped out for free at a Bose store. Guess that's what you mean when you say "customer service rocks". [:p] I have yet to test my luck.

Chuck

I am currently "testing" as I have had to send back my QC2s to have a sound distortion problem attended to.

I will let you know the outcome

$299.99 plus tax = US$325.07

Remember that visitors cannot reclaim sales tax.

I am sorry for my grammar. Bose does offer excellent customer service. IIRC Mr. Decker did tell an equally telling story of service either he or Mrs. Decker received.

I am glad of my QC2 purchase. They will certainly in handy over Memorial Day weekend with now four of us going to Buenos Aires for the weekend. Anyone else is welcome....

Further to my previous post, I can report that Bose Customer Service continues to live up to expectation[y][y][y]

My QC2s have been replaced with no quibble whatsover.

This is certainly the way to maintain customer loyalty[^][^]

Well they should replace them quickly. I bet the R+D cost of the technology have been decpreciated/depleaded.

Congrats! Maybe a trip in Nov. to Vegas is in order...

Certainly a long trip out to the west coast with V-Port would give them a good try out[:w][:w]

I was under the impression that the QC3 had similar or the same noise cancelation as the QC2s?

IMHO there is little difference in noise cancellation or reduction. I did a test a few months ago with the telly on and switched them again and again and could not tell the difference.

For flying I prefer the QC2s because they don't fall off as you dose off mid-flight.

One other consideration is that although the rechargeable batteries of the QC3s last about 30 hours, and you get a spare, the charger is yet another wallwart to take with you. The QC2s on the other hand take AAAs, almost as ubiquitous as AAs, and it's hardly a problem finding space for a spare or two.

Cheers, Howard
