I'm going to need Net access whilst in Florida - not least so I can OLCI for the reutun flight - I will have triband mobiles and possibly land line in the villa.

Does anybody have recommendations for US based net access providers via dial up?

We use a service called Gricdial. It gives you a little piece of software with variaous dialups to choose from, and a login. The charges come back on your credit card and are perfectly reasonable. Yahoo seach should bring it up

John

If I dont has access to high speed internet when travelling I have an account with NetAway. It's a global roaming dial-up service.

You just create an account, buy some time then download the dialer software. When you get to where you are going you select the correct country and area from the dialer software and off you go.

John, There is a drive up wireless hut at Goodings Plaza (nr where Splendid China was) on the 192 around mile marker 5(ish). They are not cheap but good if you have wireless and don't want to go in. They do also have a couple of PCs inside. You can either just drive up and connect and enter your CC details, or you can go in an prepay for 15, 30, 60 mins etc.

Also, I have found there is a LOT of open wireless around the area, most residential estates have at least 1 that you can find.

Hope this helps

Paul

ps I am taking my WiFi laptop with me next week, I will be on the lookout for 'open' hotspots and can post an update to you (assuming I find one this time!)

So let me get this right, you cruise round till you find an open wifi. The you park up outside someone's house, boot up, and piggy back their ADSL.
That is just so cool - deep respect[oo][y]. It brings a whole new meaning to the word 'scrumping'. Presumably this is E-scrumping!

wow - fantastic resposne - one of these will be the answer. Thanks

P17blo - I'm always up for a sp0t of wardriving but I can't take the chance that a nearby villa is 'live'. I'll still have a sniff though.
