Hi, sorry if this question is nothing to do with something that plugs in to a panel but my ovva arf has just been bought one of those newpurple mp3 jobbies ( which pertains to be simple to use )

well hard as I try after putting the "sony connect" software on my NEW laptop, the damn thing just will not connect when I plug it in.

I have music files ready to go, but will they transfer..no chance.

lots of pretty patterns on the mp3 screen and then "connecting do not unplug" like for hours.

the machine just says it has no music files and i must connect it to my suppied sodtware and transfer music.

before we both jump up and down on the little ***ker can anyone help?

This doesn't help but your the third person I know of who has had problems with their Sony MP3 player/software.

Have you tried un-installing the whole lot then downloading the latest version of the software from their web site?

Regards

Loving iPods for single people.

Nephews were bought those Nanos for Xmas so loaded iTunes and connected their iPods. But wait. It's a family machine. So oldest goes to second machine to update his. No joy. It is connected with the first machine now.

Took me 10 mins to work it out - I've been working with computers since '79. 10 year olds are meant to work this out how?

Not user friendly software [n]

seems my advent pentium M laptop ( two month old computer ) does not live up to the minimum requirements for the supplied software, might have been a good idea for sony to put these requirements on the box before purchase.

sorry to appear to double post, last one was posted yesterday.

The problem has been solved, my partners Sony thing has now turned in to an ipod nano 30gig, I bought the cool sassy looking speaker docking system.

plugged it in and it worked str8 away, sadly he has filled it with Celine Dion songs...he's sooo gay sometimes, lol.

So it appears ipods do rule.

Also,I got the wife an Ipod for xmas, spent xmas eve moving files from the families laptop's onto the darn thing, this went pretty smoothly, only a few curse words came out of the office, then the darn thing decides that it want's to adjust the volume levels for all the song's (4000) so it ties up one of the computers for like 4 hrs[:0][n],but in the end it says it was done doing what it wanted to do....of course now all the songs have different volume levels meaning she is constantly having to adjust the volume at work...so Apple make better software then MS ?

Black iPods are for PC users that are still in denial of the fact they love Apple products... ;)

I've had similar problems with a Sony Mp3 player it wont work on the desk top but on the sony laptop works fine and the software is rubbish so I bought a creative zen instead and it works just fine with media player ![y]

Well, I'm a fan of Sony, no Ipods in this house, thank you very much!

Anyway, you may be able to get it to act just like a flash drive, and drag and drop mp3s onto it, avoiding the sonic stage software.

However, I installed SonicStage 3.3 this morning and it all went perfectly. You didn't try connecting the player before you installed the correct drivers did you?
