Per the Virgin "Hot off the press" section"
In addition to the codeshare agreement a frequent flyer miles deal will be in place, which means that Virgin Atlantic's Flying Club members will earn miles when they travel with Air China. Air China's Companion frequent flyers will also earn miles when they fly on Virgin Atlantic's services............Chris Humphrey, Country Manager of China at Virgin Atlantic added:"Also, by linking the frequent flyer programmes of both airlines, we will be able to provide our passengers with even more benefits and choice

I cannot find anything on the Virgin Website about earning miles on Air China flights. Does anyone know if this is to come or if it applies only to code share flights between VS and Air China.

Planning a trip for September and am working out which airline to use for domestic flights. Not sure Air China would be my first choice

Hiya

The whole China/Beijing thing has become a complicated affair as VS were suppposed to get PEK as their own route [:(]

The partner earning you are referring to was set out in the March 2006 Press Release, it implies that FC members travelling on CA flights will be able to earn miles, given that the LHR-PEK codeshare will not be miles earning, it can only mean that it is applicable to other CA flights, but i would call FC and check your proposed flights with someone there for confirmation. Id imagine that any domestic flights (i.e. PEK-PVG) will be miles earning - which i gather is what you are after?

I assume that earning would be applicable from when the codeshare flights go live, the release stated a date of 15 April 2006, although there is no facility on the website for booking the PEK flight. Im sure if you called VS that the flights would be in the system, just not on the website, although it sounds like VS know as much about this as we do.

Thanks,
Sarah
