I am thinking of moving my Transatlantic business from BA to VS. As a Flying Club member, does it make any difference what country your membership is based in? Do UK members get better promotions?

Sure it does. UK FC members earn 200% miles on VS codeshares with CO whereas US members earn 150% on BusFirst.

Some promos (better IMHO) have been UK only based.

Robert, I think you'll find that there are discrepancies between most airlines and where their customers live. Out of interest, why are you thinking of moving to Virgin from BA? Oh, and if there's more than one of you check out Flying Company too.

I am currently BA Gold and have been a very loyal BA customer for three years. However, there are three primary reasons for changing:

1) Ability to book two classes on one PNR. PE London to America and UC America to London. Much cheaper and I don't need a flat bed on East to West flights

2) Customer Service - When I email VS, I get a reply within 24 hours, usually just one or two hours. With BA, I usually never get a reply or it comes 6-8 weeks later.

3) I am very tired of having to spend huge amounts of time tracking down tier points and miles that BA owes me. (Hopefully VS would be better at this but at least they would not ignore my requests)

You can also do this on BA.COM. Begin to book the entire trip in Premier Economy, near the end of the process you will be offered the opportunity to upgrade individual segments to Club.

I've always found the "Missing Miles" facility on the VA website works for miles (can't say for tier points)
