Lloyds TSB offers airport lounge access

I just got a letter through from Lloyds TSB telling me that (along with other things) my platinum current account now offers airport lounge access as one of it's perks (as long as I book my travel via the Lloyds TSB platinum travel service).

I'm not 100% certain which lounges the access relates too though...

I expect the Clubhouse is too much to hope for... [:(]

Interesting - they are either partnering up with Priority Pass like Natwest did for its abysmal Centurion copy - Natwest Black (http://www.natwestblack.com)

or they are talking about Uk lounges where they are partnering up with ServisAir or the like via holiday extra's.

No way will it be Clubhouse access!

I may give them a call and a) ask which lounges there are using + b) why they can't just give the access as a general thing, instead of it being conditional on booking through Lloyds TSB.

Just having a look at Natwest Black... Hmm... Doesn't look that amazing, I must say.

Lloyds has it's own 'black' type card also, called 'Premier':

Though I agree, Centurian really is unbeatable in that field!

As an aside, I don't like the way these 'free' services are tied into buying from a provider that's more likely to be more expensive [:(!]

Onionz is right, the Natwest Black site looks very amateur for a premier level product. The Lloyds TSB Premier card site looks much nicer (as does their rather cool looking card).

Michael, I don't think this is available to Lloyds TSB Select Plus members. I think at the moment it's just available to Platinum and Premier account holders, but I'll keep you posted with any information that I find out regarding the lounges.

I agree with you regarding it being unfair that some of the 'free' perks are conditional etc [:(]

For a long time there was absolutely no mention of the Centurion Card on the UK website, now theres a token page that is not linked from the front page.

Yeah, I guessed the lounge thing is for Plats, etc, but I was more referring to the travel service - Select get the "Select Holiday Service" which doesn't guarantee the extra 6.5% discount, but does promise that "You can also take advantage of special offers which give you great discounts" [|)]

Still, I have a meeting with the Bank Manager tomorrow evening, maybe I can get some perks out of that one

I misunderstood. I've never tried the travel service before (and never used the Select holiday service back when I also had a Select account), so I'm not sure how good it is etc.

I really want to upgrade my Lloyds TSB platinum credit card to the Premier one though I may make an appointment with my bank manager

I'm just really suspicious about all these supposed travel services - never used one before. I liken them a bit to those "free holidays" you get offered by companies to sign up for something. Yeah, it's free, but...."You have to book through our agents [RIP-U-OFF Travel Inc], buy our insurance, you can only travel on the 7th Sunday of the month, and then only when the moon is square-shaped. Thank you for placing your business with us."

Following further investigation, I can report that the lounge access 'perk' does indeed use the Priority Pass network of lounges.

The nice Lloyds TSB phone rep also pointed out to me that full Priority Pass membership is available via their Premier credit card's 'Priority Travel Service add-on'.
